Mineral Analysis Laboratory Network

LAMIN, the company’s official laboratory located in Rio de Janeiro office, provides lab analyses that constitute one of the key support activities for the Geological Survey of Brazil’s fieldwork.

The analysis carried out include specific chemical characterizations in rocks, soils pan concentrates and stream sediments, petrographic characterization, fossil and biological studies, and mineral water quality tests.

As of 2006, a new addition to the existing laboratories will be introduced at the São Paulo regional office, called the Center for Mining Pollution Control. This is thanks to an agreement signed with DNPM and it will be the only state-owned laboratory of this kind in Brazil. The equipment has been provided to the Brazilian government by the Japan International Cooperation Agency Japan.
